Welcome to the work of Jon Goldman, an M.I.T.-trained interdisciplinary artist with a 44 year practice.
From large-scale inflatable sculpture to works created on a nano scale using a Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscope , Goldman is a sculptor, painter, filmmaker, designer, musician and animator whose work explores ecology, technology, community, family, ethics, humor, language and archive as integral parts of his practice.
TRUTH PROJECT is Jon Goldman’s current creative endeavor, where he playfully explores the multifaceted language surrounding the word ‘TRUTH’ through humor, cultural references, and dialectical discussions. This project includes various installations and interactive elements designed to provoke thought and dialogue about the nature of truth in the bifurcated realities of contemporary society.
The individual works in the TRUTH PROJECT range from an astonishing 2 microns—smaller than the width of a human hair(100microns)—to an impressive eight-foot by forty-eight-foot aluminum installation for waterways. This dramatic contrast not only showcases Goldman’s versatility as an artist but also suggests that truth can be found anywhere if we are willing to seek it, from the minuscule intricacies of personal experience to the grand narratives that shape public discourse.
See the detailed project booklet, which outlines the themes, artistic processes, and community engagement strategies involved. This resource offers insights into how Goldman’s work invites viewers to engage critically with the concept of truth.
